I am a musculoskeletal physiotherapist with a special interest in the shoulder. I have treated many shoulder pathologies, both post operative and non operative. For a normal shoulder to function there must be good coordination of the muscles acting on the scapula and humerus. So often this coordination is not there, and patients end up with imbalance, weakness and often pain. Careful manual therapy and appropriate exercises are often all it takes to get the shoulder working normally again, but it takes effort on the patient's part to get it there.
