Mr Neil Jain

Mr Neil Jain BM, FRCS (Tr & Orth)
Is a distinguished Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at The Arm Clinic (The Wilmslow Hospital) and a founding partner of UK Sports Medicine. He specialises in the treatment of sports-related injuries affecting the knee, shoulder, and elbow, with expertise in both advanced arthroscopic and non-operative management techniques .
After earning his medical degree from the University of Southampton in 2003, Mr Jain completed higher surgical training on the North West rotation. He then pursued a Reconstructive Arthroscopy & Sports Medicine fellowship at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, where he honed his specialist skills at the elite level.
Mr Jain offers comprehensive care spanning ligament reconstruction (e.g. ACL, rotator cuff, biceps), cartilage repair, joint preservation, and keyhole surgery for knee, shoulder, and elbow injuries. He also integrates evidence-based non-surgical interventions, such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections, to optimise return-to-play outcomes.
A respected researcher and educator, Mr Jain has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks, and routinely presents at national and international meetings, including ESSKA, ISAKOS, AANA, and the FIFA Football Medicine Conference.
He holds leadership roles as Honorary Treasurer of the British Orthopaedic Sports Trauma & Arthroscopy Association (BOSTAA) and member of ESSKA’s Education Committee.
Clinically, he has worked with elite teams and athletes—including Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, Barrow Raiders RUFC, Vancouver Canucks, INEOS Grenadiers cycling squad, and contributors to England’s National Football Team injury prevention strategies.
Mr Jain prides himself on delivering patient-centred, evidence-led care. He collaborates closely with physiotherapists and sports rehabilitation specialists to develop tailored recovery plans that address individual needs—whether for career athletes or patients with degenerative or acute injuries.
When not in practice, he enjoys playing golf, tennis, skiing, exploring food and travel, and attending live music - interests that reflect his appreciation for balance of performance and wellbeing.
