Is a highly respected shoulder surgeon at The Arm Clinic based in The Wilmslow Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare UK. Specialising since 2002 in sports and soft-tissue shoulder injuries, he provides expert care in arthroscopy, shoulder instability, rotator cuff repair, frozen shoulder, AC joint injuries, and comprehensive sports injury rehabilitation .
He treats a wide spectrum of patients - from elite athletes and professionals in contact sports to individuals with complex shoulder problems requiring revision surgery. Prof Funk collaborates closely with upper-limb trauma specialists, shoulder replacement surgeons, and dedicated rehabilitation therapists to ensure holistic, patient-centred care.
An educator and thought leader, he is Honorary Professor and clinical lead at the University of Salford. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and books, and regularly lectures internationally on shoulder surgery, sports injuries, and rehabilitation techniques.
